McHenry Co. Committee reviewing longterm county plan

Planning and Development Committee members voted to keep the county’s projected population for 2030 at 540,000, after County Board Member Ersel Schuster suggested reducing it to 457,000.

As of 2008, the U.S. Census Bureau estimated the population to be 318,641 –Wikipedia.  The annual growth (rate using the 2008 figure as 2010 population) is 2.8% versus 1.8%.
