Wednesday’s meeting about the 2010 plan is the last one scheduled before the deadline.
The drawing is the new county administration building to be open in January 2010.
The county’s 2009 budget expires Nov. 30. But the county can’t pay its bills after that if the County Board fails to adopt a 2010 spending plan. There is “no statutory authority allowing the County Board to operate under a prior budget,” said State’s Attorney Michelle Courier in an Oct. 23 memo to board members.
