Restating status of the mulch pile/fire

The States Attorney will be in court on August 1, 2013 for a hearing on the various issues.  It appears that all the mulch is gone.

Mobile food pantry coming to Belvidere

The Community Cupboard will be hosting a mobile food pantry from 2 to 4 p.m. July 11 at 1320 East Ave. in Belvidere.

The organization will be providing enough produce, meat and nonperishable food to serve about 300 families living in the area. Residents do not have to pay for the food nor do they need to bring any identification with them. 

Food is distributed on a first come, first served basis. Individuals should bring boxes, laundry baskets or bags to carry the food.

Hearings, meetings on wind farm rules to last three more months | Belvidere Daily Republican

Members were told there would be two more public hearings before the zoning board of appeals, on June 25 and July 23. Both will be at 7 p.m. in the Boone County Administration Building, 1212 Logan Ave.

Expert testimony was given in previous meetings. Public comments will continue at the June and July hearings, with speakers being limited to five minutes each

If that schedule holds true the PZB, one of seven standing committees of the county board, will consider the recommendation at its Aug. 6 meeting

Johnson Road: Spring Township given only three options by Illinois Tollway

The three alternatives are:

1. Removing Johnson Road Bridge.

2. Removing another township bridge

3.  Share in the maintenance of bridges replaced and replace bridge in year 60.  Total  costs are  approximate.y $1,000,000 with most cost coming in year 60 for the actual bridge replacement at a cost of $850,000.
