Currently only students with at least 15 unexcused absences can be disciplined under state law. This new ordinance would allow for immediate discipline for student's who skip school.
The ordinance will be up for discussion at Monday night's Boone County Board meeting at 6:00 p.m. in the County Board Room located at 1212 Logan Avenue, Belvidere.
