RAMP offering free amplified phones for hard of hearing |

 

Illinois Telecommunications and Access Corporation (ITAC)provides free amplified telephones at no cost to the consumer, and there are no age or income restrictions, according to a news release from the organization. Those who qualify must be a legal resident of Illinois, have proof from a doctor or audiologist that you are hard-of-hearing, and have a standard residential telephone land line.

To pick up ITAC applications or try one of the phones, visit or call any of the following RAMP locations:
Boone County: 530 S. State St. in Belvidere, 815-544-8404
• DeKalb County: 115 N. First St. in DeKalb, 815-756-3202
• Stephenson County: 2155 W. Galena Ave. in Freeport, 815-233-1128
• Winnebago County: 202 Market St. in Rockford, 815-968-7467
