Around 1,100 GM dealers -- about 18% of the company's U.S. network -- should be receiving letters from the automaker informing them that the company does not plan to renew their contracts that expire in October 2010,

weren't meeting objectives set by the company, such as minimum sales volumes and dealer profitability.
