No Saturday P.O. delivery = cheaper postage for political candidates

Politicians love to have third class mail delivered on the Monday before the election. .

Why?                                       

It results in their getting the message to constituents as close  to the election as possible.  In the past that often required careful depositing at the Post Office of first class mailing to insure delivery on Monday.  Well no longer—dump 3rd class mail  on Thursday (or Friday) with no Saturday delivery it will be delivered Monday.

Tell the politicians to skip a weekday not Saturday.

DeKalb Park board president charged with shoplifting | Daily Chronicle

 

Police said the man had bagged $22 worth of groceries in the middle of the store and attempted to leave without paying.
James M. Volk, 44, of the 1500 block of Pickwick Lane in DeKalb, was charged with retail theft under a local ordinance, according to a police report.
In his position on the park board, Volk uses the name J. Matt Volk

Petition drive nears completion | Daily Chronicle

The people of DeKalb County had 30 days to stop this back-door referendum and it appears that they did it.  Any ideas regarding the November election and referendum results? 

4,201 are needed – the petition would send the county board’s approval of the sale of up to $45 million in bonds to a referendum in the November general election.
The county wants to issue the bonds to pay for expansions to the county courthouse and jail.
