UPDATE: ATALISSA, Iowa (WIFR) - We are learning new information about the Belvidere man accused of shooting at drivers and officers on I-80 in Iowa last week.
60-year-old Charles Johnston will be arraigned in court in March on charges of attempted murder and assault after he allegedly fired shots from a truck stop near Atalissa, Iowa.
Johnston had served as a psychology professor at Harper College in Palatine, Illinois. College officials released the following statement:
"Professor Johnston is absent without approved leave. Following his arrest, he has been barred from campus. He has been employed by the college since 1996 and is an associate professor in the Department of Psychology. Harper College is prepared to cooperate with authorities in whatever way possible."

CEDAR COUNTY, Iowa (WIFR) - 60-year-old Charles Johnston, of Belvidere, made an appearance in court Thursday after he's accused of shooting at cars and a state trooper on an Iowa highway.
Authorities say they believe Johnston shot at several vehicles at a truck stop on I-80 near Tipton, Iowa. Johnston then allegedly exited the highway where he exchanged gunfire with state troopers.
No one was hurt. Johnston faces attempted murder charges.
