They had been overwhelmed by a $5,087 water bill, including penalties, and were looking for some way to dig themselves out of that hole.
Enter a man from Northbrook, who heard about the family’s plight over the radio.
He attended the June 10 Poplar Grove Village Board meeting and agreed to pay $3,500 toward the bill. The balance came out of a $2,000 pay pal account set up to help the family.
