approved an additional $18,000 on top of the coroner’s $199,070 budget to cover the higher-than-expected costs for autopsies in 2011.
County Coroner Dennis Miller said he handled a record 566 cases in 2011, including 56 autopsies, some of which included toxicology tests. And at $850 per autopsy, not including the travel and scene work, the costs add up quickly
