Northwest Herald | County law enforcement agencies see more applicants in tough economy

 

Many police departments across McHenry County are reporting an increase in applicants from recent years when aggressive marketing tactics were more common. That likely is a sign of economic times, local police officials say.

We have found that by increasing the education standard, we’re getting a very high-quality candidate who can function in today’s police working environment,” ….. “We find that these candidates use less sick time, have fewer disciplinary problems, and that’s what we’re looking for to professionalize law enforcement.”
