At this early point, Boone County’s 2013-14 budget will need to be trimmed by about $324,000.
That’s the preliminary projection from county administrator Ken Terrinoni, who is estimating income at $14.744 million and expenses, as reflected in proposed budgets from various department heads, at $15.068 million.
The expenses number is “what it will take to get the job done,” he explained.
But 10 departments are proposing “new initiatives,” such as additional employees and new equipment, amounting to another $656,305, for a new total of $15.724 million. That would mean a deficit of just under $1 million
