But as meetings continued over the summer the committee came up with a way to eliminate $1 million of the projected shortfall. Members agreed to take excess money from a number of accounts.
Specifically, they proposed using $425,000 from the public safety tax, $400,000 from the Maple Crest retirement home fund with the balance coming from two other funds. That meant Terrinoni and department heads would have to pare spending by just $125,000 to create a balanced budget.

If the levy passed is more than 1.% more than last year's tax extension by the County Clerk, expect tax bills to increase.
