Six townships to have electric aggregation referendums April 9 | Belvidere Daily Republican

 

Six of the nine townships in Boone County will have referendums on electric aggregation as part of the April 9 general election.

They are Bonus, Boone, Poplar Grove, Leroy, Manchester and Spring. Caledonia and Flora townships ….

Voters in unincorporated Boone County rejected their referendum in March 2012. The county board, should it choose to do so, won’t be allowed to have a second vote until February 2014 at the earliest….

In Bonus Township there is a contest for road commissioner where incumbent Donald Gustafson is being opposed by Matthew Feltes.

Also in Bonus Township six people are vying for four seats on the board of trustees. They are incumbents Robert Bahling, Fay Ellwanger, Dan Mickey and Jim Turner, along with newcomers Wendy Stewart and Todd Walberg.

Public hearings on wind turbine setbacks will continue April 23 | Belvidere Daily Republican

BELVIDERE – The first of an undetermined number of public hearings on wind turbine setbacks has been held before the Boone County Zoning Board of Appeals.

After about an hour of testimony from an appraiser, board Chairman Norm Stimes said the hearings would continue until all questions and concerns had been heard.

BELVIDERE – Belvidere Township has a full complement of men and women hoping to serve on the board of trustees.

Democrat candidates running in Tuesday’s election are Dolores Puplava, Robert Smuszkiewicz, Kevin Swezey and Patrick Whitehead. Republicans are incumbents Bill Robertson and Bob Turner, along with Kathy Grover and Richard Nelson.

Well I have not seen any of the cards yet however there are reported “robo” calls done by American for Prosperity. UPDATE 4-4-2013: The vote “No” cards are back as a series expensive vote “yes” cards were sent as well.
