Northwest Herald | Social service agencies need state budget numbers

Social Services are closing.

The budget hastily approved Wednesday evening restores funding for social service agencies to 86 percent of last fiscal year

McHenry County Youth Service Bureau has laid off staff and shut down a program for delinquent children, Executive Director Sue Krause said. A second one that she intended to shut down is operating at six hours a week, thanks to current and former employees volunteering to run it without pay.
