Belvidere’s Sovereignty By Silence Dogood

Silence Dogood returns after long absence.  Hopefully Mr. Dogood will be back with us for a long time. Here is his first post since July 2009

Health is better, let’s get back to work.

Thank you for being so forgiving while I went through my physical therapy.  Some of you know via e-mails we exchanged that I had some difficulties with my stroke and had to have physical therapy.  That process took some time and I was told I needed to remain stress free during that time period of rehabilitation.  Not so easy my friends in this town when every day someone annoys you with their stupidity.

Also it has been very hard for me to get online because so many people are still trying to figure out who I am and therefore I have had to deal with too many firewall invasions.  One would think there might be a community problem to solve.  Is someone getting paid to find out who I am and why I want to use my constitutional rights and speak out.

Thank you to all who encouraged me to continue the fight and come back on line.  I hope we find some common ground to combat this administration together.

So where shall we begin, why with your emails of course.  I hope you will e-mail me your opinions, concerns and anything else you would like to discuss.  I look forward to hearing from you.

Please check back very soon, I have received 3 e-mails from parents who attended the graduation ceremony of Belvidere North High School and they were not to happy with Fred Brereton giving what sounded like a political speech.  If anyone has that speech on tape I would be most grateful if you allowed me to upload it to my blog.

Its good to be back……………………………………………

Are taxpayers ready to let College of DuPage take on more debt?

Rock Valley College recently did the same but did not need to seek voter approval.

The question may be whether to extend its existing debt for another 20 to 25 years, or allow its debt to expire - and, accordingly, its tax rate to drop…The college is close to paying off debt from past projects and would need voter support to extend the current tax rate to raise $168 million for the potential projects

The Kirk Campaign: Still Scrubbing Away | Progress Illinois

Here is what Mark Kirk had on his campaign website:

The Kirk Campaign: Still Scrubbing Away

Several days after admitting that he didn't actually receive the Navy's award for "intelligence officer of the year," the campaign of GOP U.S. Senate candidate Mark Kirk is still scrambling to correct all their mentions of the award.  Case in point, Politico's Ben Smith noted earlier this morning that the assertion could be found on the issues page of Kirk's campaign website:

It's since been changed.

Mayor, company executive invite Obama to Belvidere

Eight months ago a local company Infrastructure Defense Technologies (IDT) was forced to file a protest with the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) who made the original request for quote on the Protective Barriers central to this ongoing situation. Ultimately the contract award was rescinded and bidding was repeated.

Recently the contract for these protective barriers was awarded again to the foreign company that has provided over $1 billion worth of the current protective barrier product. …

When asked if there was a real chance that they would prevail in a second appeal process, Tom Carlton said, "I believe we have a 50 percent chance of winning this appeal and I will take this opportunity to invite President Obama to come to Belvidere and IDT to see the area and the product and talk to us about how important this contract is to this area."
