Police cars could be seen in front of four separate businesses on State Street in downtown Belvidere early Wednesday evening.
Belvidere Police Chief Jan Noble says it was a multi jurisdictional investigation between Belvidere Police, the Boone County Sheriff's Office, Illinois State Police and several other Stateline agencies.
Just two weeks ago, police in Loves Park busted two massage parlors - Radient Spa, which had just opened in August, and Majestic Massage - where 3 women were arrested on prostitution charges.
Police at the time hinted that this could all be a part of a larger human trafficking operation.
At the Rockford City Council meeting on August 22, Rockford Aldermen expressed concern with a lack of control over the distinction of spa businesses, stemming from a 2005 state law put into place that placed control at the hands of the state.
