Apparently in Wisconsin officials, are subject to a fine for non-compliance with the notification requirement of the Open Meetings Act.
Town leaders met in closed session at 6 p.m. on March 17th without posting notice 24 hours in advance as required by Wisconsin state statute and without notifying media outlets.
Hauser, Kitzmann, Booth and Schaller could face fines of $25 to $300 each, and any action taken in the closed session could be invalidated if investigators conclude they violated open meeting laws, Gruenke said.
