Reduction in deputies tied to Kane retirement plan :: Beacon News :: Local News

GENEVA -- Through attrition, not layoffs, Sheriff Pat Perez will be allowed a maximum of 87 sworn deputies, a Kane County Board committee agreed on Wednesday.

The move, once approved by the full County Board on July 14, reduces from 96 the deputy total the sheriff can appoint.

Boone chairman names 2nd board pick - Rockford, IL - Rockford Register Star

Bob Walberg has a new choice to fill an open board seat and has released the names of those who sought the position.

Walberg said O’Malley, a family medicine specialist with OSF Medical Group-Poplar Grove, should be a candidate that the two divided factions of the board can agree on.
