A Boone County Board member resigned after losing his seat in the Nov. 6 election to facilitate a smooth transition between the boards.
Pat Mattison resigned effective Nov. 7 to allow a newly-elected board member to become acquainted with local issues before beginning the term in December.
“I hope this provides whoever is appointed in my place the opportunity to get a head start on getting informed on many issues and to be able to hit the road running in making critical decisions,” Mattison added.

In addition to its regular auditing fees to the auditing firm, Boone County is negotiating with another accounting firm to prepare the the closing statements for the auditing firm to begin the audit. Such closing statements are the responsibility of management.
