BELVIDERE, Ill. (WIFR) - A 77-year-old Boone County Board member faces a felony theft charge, according to online court records.

Marion Thornberry of Belvidere is accused of stealing from a school or place of worship. He was charged March 11 and must appear in court March 13.

Thornberry represents Boone County Board District 3. He was elected to the position in the Nov. 5, 2024, general election, with his term set to expire in December 2028.
