The city and county are sharing equally the $203,000 for engineering and an environmental analysis, as well as the $247,678 for the 13 acres. The tollway authority usually requires a 50/50 split of the cost of an interchange, but in this case is picking up the majority of the expense.
County board Chairman Bob Walberg said the county’s portion of the cost, about $225,000, would come out of its highway fund.
