Pysson said he didn’t believe Walberg should be expressing his views, or discussing personal experiences, at a meeting he was attending as a representative of the county board.

But Walberg said he was talking with board members as a resident of Boone County, not as chairman of the county board.

Minutes of the December health board meeting reflected Walberg expressing his concern about the department raising its fees. But there was no reference to anything personal.

Pysson attended the February health board meeting to see if those comments were part of the official record. He raised that question at the start of the meeting, under the public comments section of the agenda.

I listen to Mr. Walberg spend ten minutes complaining about a demolition permit for his personal property during the December monthly meeting of the Health Department. Mr. Walberg was attending the meeting because a member of the county board had not yet been selected for the committee.

As a private citizen I found his behavior less than appropriate. Mr. Walberg questioned the actions and attitude of a member of the Health Department’s staff regarding a personal dispute regarding fees for a well closing on his farm. This matter should have been discussed with the employee’s supervisor, not at the health board. It appeared that Mr. Walberg was attempting to use his position to resolve a personal dispute with a county employee.  A member of the county board(even the Chairman) does not have special rights or  privilege, such as brow -beating county employees.  Bill Pysson
