The law mandates that government units post their meeting’s minutes on their websites within 6 working days after approval. Boone County approved their January 19 meeting, on February 16 and did not post them upon the internet until March 2. Such did not occur until I contacted County Board President Bob Walberg.
Boone County claimed an exemption from the open meetings act regarding posting of minutes until the Attorney General contacted the county.
What makes it so difficult for Boone County to abide by laws and mandates?
