Off-duty Belvidere police officers were hired back to perform seat belt enforcement zones at intersections throughout the city from Nov. 13 to 30, resulting in 186 traffic stops and 271 tickets and arrests.
Boone County Sheriff’s deputies conducted roving patrols looking specifically for DUI offenders during the Thanksgiving holiday. There were six different patrols. They arrested three subjects for DUI, stopped 35 cars and issued 38 tickets.
